Vancouver Suite #6, 8, 9
14 x 11
Graham Peacock
$7000

These three works are magical for me. It has to do with their scale which is very intimate and the way Graham framed them. At the same time, they really define his distinctive painting style. They enlivened my space and always made me smile. I loved living for over 10 years with this beautiful riot of colour.

WILLOW PODS IN TREES
22 x 25.5
Peter von Tiessenhaussen
$7000

I salute one of Alberta's most important artists! His activism is inspiring! This painting reminds me of when I invited his collaboration with NFLD. dance artist, Anne Troake, to the Canada Dance Festival at the NAC in Ottawa. It shimmers with his commitment to the land and how we can treat it as a true inspiration for ongoing life.

From THE I BEAM SERIES
6.25x 22 L x 6 w
Catherine Burgess
$1800

Her placement of forms on a steel I Beam inspires me to consider how I place all movement in space when I'm creating a new dance. Catherine understands placement like no one else. Her work immediately becomes transformative, spiritual. That's just the way it is.

SELF PORTRAIT AFTER HOGARTH
33 x 30
Carolyn Campbell
$3400

This painting which showcases what a fantastic she is at drawing, is from her MFA Graduate Show. I had to bring it home. Carolyn was a member of the BWDC board of director for over 10 years, and now she is the President & CEO of Norquest College. I think this self-portrait really defines the inner space of this remarkable woman. Its serenity greeted me each time I passed it. Who is this woman?

NORTHERN SERIES 28.11
15.5 x 14.5
Doug Haynes
$2000

When I experienced Doug's Toledo Series at the AGA, there was no question! I had to live with one of his works. They glow, they shimmer, they radiate powerful light. I look at Doug's work and I can't stop feeling positive. This happened to me every day for over 20 years.

THE REFLECTIVE BEAR REFLECTS UPON HIS OWN REFLECTION [BY THE LIGHT OF THE SILVERY MOON!]
23.75 x 36
Jason Carter
$2400
SOLD

OK, I added the last phrase to the title! This amazing Indigenous artist lived above me for many years. His smile, like his paintings, is brim full of positive energy. I defy you not to smile as you pass by 'THE REFLECTIVE BEAR!'

PRAYER BOX
7.25 x 5.25 x 4.75
Isla Burns
$1400
SOLD

This very intimate sculpture reflects the essence of Isla's work with steel sculpture. And, yet it is so small. Just Regard her canoe north of City Hall. Every one of them inspires a story. I have loved every conversation I have ever had with this beautiful artist and her most fine work.

MIRRORS, REFLECTIONS, FIRE
25 x 40
Oksana Movchan
$4500

Whether it's her paintings or her prints, Oksana defies you not to travel to another place when you encounter them. This very dynamic work is so rich with imagery. And, it is created by her painting directly on the glass.  It's like the frame can not contain it.

*This work was donated by another art lover

Untitled
49 x 17
Mitsu Ikemura
$4500

When I met him, Mitsu lived in Saint Albert. I wanted to collaborate with him and so I went to visit him in his home. The space was so beautiful, so clean. I sat on a low couch in the living room as he made us tea. I remember a low coffee table, the only other object in the room but for a beautiful gardenia tree on it.

His works are made of layers of his hand made paper that he has beautifully painted. They are glued together as a surface which he then draws upon. They are too beautiful.

I bought this work almost 35 years ago and have looked at it almost every day ever since. I regret that he and I never collaborated.

S-CURVE
24.75 x 20.5
Guiseppi Albi
$3000

I remember going to Guiseppi's studio knowing that I wanted to live with one of his works. I loved how S-Curve shifted each time I moved to another vantage point. The colors changed. The emphasis of each gesture never stayed the same. They seemed to be moving as much as I was.  Car enamel on steel, framed in space... I found it so dynamic!

BRULOT
24 x 24
Tom Burrows
$2000

This Vancouver artist builds these amazing objects of beautiful color. That's it!! They hold space!

I remember the Vancouver dance artist, Noam Gagnon, coming to my place for a post show dinner and staring at BRULOT for so long. He went home and bought his own! But, in pink! Not blue!

25 years of contemplating BLUE!

UNTITLED
23.75 x 24
David Thomas
$2800

I saw this work at the Front Gallery, and I knew I needed it for my home. This fellow whoever he is, is just THERE. He looks off into the distance. He may be leaving, but who knows? I think the way Dave has blurred his left eye contributes to that liminal presence. I have to admit, this painting scared me.  But, I had to live with it.

TEARS OF AUGUSTE
21.5 x26.75
Scott Cumberland
$2800

Scott's works on canvas and on paper are so physical. I feel his body moving as he created each dip, each swivel...I know he's dancing when he paints. Have you ever seen such a dance of color and of joy? Not me!

Untitled
28.75 x 29.75
Maryanne Syncivicz
$2100

I love this mixed media work. Is the image a pair of Malard wings that the space can not contain? What is this beautiful blue field that only covers part of the field? Why does this work have such majesty? I could never answer these questions as long as I lived with this image! Maryanne’s beautiful work has simply graced my wall for well over 25 years.
